Welcome message from the Principal
Welcome to the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School Website which will provide families and the community with valuable insights and information about the educational environment that the school offers. The website will be updated regularly to reflect current information and initiatives.
The years of dedication and commitment to the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School from a broad cross section of our school has now been recognised with respect to the school’s recent progress.
The school celebrated two significant recognitions about the performance of KBCHS. The Director General of Education has communicated that the progress of the school performance review conducted by the Expert Review Group is sustainable and has met expectations.
The Director General said that, “Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School is to be congratulated for its professional commitment to implementing the Public School Accountability improvement agenda and as such, achieving an important milestone in its quest for sustained improvement.” She went on to say that, “I wish you and your staff continued success in your endeavours to provide high quality education at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School.”
This successful outcome has seen the school student population continue to grow, particularly in the attraction of new Year 7 students.
Staff and students are to be congratulated on such a positive outcome. The recognition is well deserved and augers well for the future of our school. The strength of the school is our staff and not, only their dedication, but resilience and perseverance in getting the job done.
Our success comes from professional leadership, well qualified, committed teachers, and a strong curriculum delivered within a framework with unwavering focus on effective teaching and learning guided by a shared vision and goals. Combined with outstanding facilities, KBCHS has created a safe, supportive and inspiring learning environment in which our culturally diverse student body thrives, enabling them to fully develop their intellectual, emotional and social potential.
We have high expectations and encourage our students to not only excel academically, but to participate in the many different sporting, cultural and leadership activities that we provide. Our students are proud to be part of KBCHS. Students are hardworking and disciplined, respect others and value the environment that they live in. We promote inclusion and celebrate diversity, welcoming students from all walks of life.
To our students, your many accomplishments, along with those of your teachers, your fellow students and your parents who support us all are the primary reasons that our school continues to improve. We can also take pride in the wide array of state-of-the-arts buildings, new technology and other physical resources, but I believe the key ingredient of a good education is hard work, accountability, and commitment of the people who make up our community. KBCHS students are testimony to the value of those efforts.
